Most of the time career women are also busy moms and sometimes dads need to work overtime or away from home in order to be able provide the necessities of a growing family. When parents do not have enough time to do the house chores such as cleaning, laundry, and gardening they might be in need of hiring a family help. They can choose to have a long term nanny who stays with the family day in and day out or they may hire baby sitters who can look after the kids when they are not at home. Some even hire a specialist that will take care of a woman who has just given birth or is about to give birth since her condition is delicate and she cannot do the strenuous tasks needed to be done at home. Some parents also hire a governess who can also serve as a private teacher or tutor to their kids. Clearly, household helps are not constrained to kitchen work anymore. They are already able to provide holistic help to the family.

Although nannies are hired mainly to look after the children and keep the pressure from the working parents, the parents should still be the one to supervise household chores. Most parenting tips say that it is still necessary for the parents to spend quality time with their children. They should also get to know the nanny and ask him or her about the things that happened while they were away. Some nannies may be irresponsible therefore it is best to hire someone from a reputable agency which will provide responsible and reliable nannies for the family.
